We are currently seeking EDM operators for 2nd and 3rd shifts.     Daily Duties:

    Manufacture products to operation sheet and/or other work instructions. Validate (verify) work results. Maintain work station in a clean and orderly fashion. Document (sign for) the work performed. To work in a safe manner. Your specific duties will include:

    • Machine components to print, communicating with manufacturing and production manager and floor personnel daily
    • Inspect all work to print to ensure specifications are met, using appropriate measuring equipment.
    • Maintain all measuring and manufacturing equipment to ensure cleanliness and accuracy
    • Assist in the development of tooling, gaging, fixturing, and process improvements
    • Perform in process inspection of machined parts
    • Complete and maintain all paperwork for parts including documentation of results
    • Participate in TPM activities within the entire department and maintain 6s standards for the entire department

    Preferred qualifications for the position include: (compensation based on qualifications)

    • Knowledge of EDM manufacturing processes, procedures, and production equipment.
    • Experience working with tight tolerances, g-code programming, and blueprint reading
    • Working knowledge of micrometers, calipers, CMM, and plate inspection tools
    • Experience of 2-3 years in manufacturing preferred but not required
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrated quality record
    • Quality ability to work on several tasks simultaneously
    • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and Mastercam is helpful but not required
    • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • employees must be able to lift/or move up to 35 pounds.

    Daily Duties:

    . Your specific duties will include:

    • Execute New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle, from start to finish, for assigned projects: quote pricing and lead time for new products, design and procure tooling and gaging, develop and refine machining and inspection methods, compose and publish work instruction documentation, and train operators on the new process. 

     

    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives on existing processes for reduction of lead time, cycle time, perishable tooling expense, and cost of poor quality. 

     

    • Conduct root cause investigations on quality defects and employ corrective and preventative actions to prevent future events. 

     

    • Apply mechanical proficiency to troubleshoot machine issues; mentor junior engineers, technicians, and machinists; advise management on technical matters; hold design review presentations; and other tasks as directed by management.

     

    Preferred qualifications for the position include: (compensation based on qualifications)

    •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of technical experience.

     

    • Experience in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines is highly desirable.

     

    • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical specifications, and manufacturing work instructions. 

     

    • Experience CAD and CAM software is required.  SolidWorks and Mastercam experience is a plus.

     

    • Working knowledge of micrometers, calipers, CMM, sine plates, and other precision inspection instruments is highly desirable. 

     

    • Ability to communicate well with peers, shop floor personnel, and management is required.  Must be able to read and write in English.

It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills and that you are able to interact effectively with both internal colleagues and external clients.

    Specific qualifications for the position include:

    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production equipment.
    • Quality Assurance experience of 2-5 years
    • ASQ CQE certification preferred
    • Knowledge of standard quality practices, ex. FMEA''s, SPC, DOE, etc.
    • Solid working knowledge of PPAP processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge in Audits, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement, Supplier Quality, Process Design and Control
    • Knowledge of quantitative Tools and Methods
    • Quality Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously
    • Utilize inspection and test equipment [caliper, micrometer, comparator, tool microscope, etc]
